We undertake a great deal of fundraising activity
and are always extremely grateful to everyone who supports these
events in any way!
The
Bruce Trust held a Duck Race on New Year's Day, around 100 people
attended to race their ducks down the river. There was also indoor
duck racing at the Cross Keys and £400 was raised in
total!
The
Bruce Trust are very grateful to The Kintbury Players who performed
the first night of their 07 Revue on the 28th November in aid of the
Trust funds, we raised £773.22 on the evening!
In order to further raise funds we have launched a 50:50
Club and there is a monthly draw, the size of the prizes are dependent on the number of entrants and half of the
money raised will go towards keeping our costs down, whilst the
other half goes in prizes.

grants for which we say "thank you".
Spring Fund Raising: We would like to thank everyone who took part
in the following events which were all very well supported:
John and Christine Glover and friends volunteered to cook breakfast,
morning coffee, light lunches, cakes and afternoon teas on Good
Friday and Easter Saturday to sustain the support crews from the
Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race. They raised £370 and hope to
repeat the event next year.
Valerie Dalgleish organised a Table Top Sale at the Cross Keys in
Great Bedwyn on Saturday 14th April and raised £103, despite the
fabulous weather which kept people in their gardens. More events to
follow!
The 7 in a Bar(ge) events which involved concerts in the Great
Bedwyn: Cross Keys; Crofton Pumping Station; Pewsey: Wharf Bistro
and French Horn; Honey Street: The Barge; Horton: The Bridge;
Devizes: Kennet & Avon Canal Trust Centre.
Many thanks to all the hosts and to the singers for giving up so
much of their time and effort. A fantastic £1,000 was raised.
Thanks again to everyone at Cross Keys,
especially Val, for the funds raised at
the Christmas Quiz £40 and the raffle £79.
Many thanks to everyone at the Cross Keys in Great
Bedwyn for their support this year. During September 2006
they held a local Artists' Exhibition that raised £552 and
during November they held a local Photographers' Exhibition that
raised £830. Thanks to everyone who donated a picture and to
everyone who came along on the night for the Auction. Thanks
also to Bruce, Sue and Val for organising it. (December 2006)

Thanks to Jan and Alan at the Three Tuns in Bedwyn who
have donated another £290 raised through sales of the "Leaky
Treacle Pudding". (December 2006)

Well done to Keith McCarthy of Northants who raised £400
through sponsorship on the Great North Run. (October 2006)

Well done to Jon Smith and Deborah Lester-George of Great
Bedwyn for completing a parachute jump and raising £75.
(September 2006)
The Shine Awards ~ The Three
Tuns came fourth in the final round of the Shine Awards, raising
£3,300. Thanks to everyone who voted!
The Three Tuns in Great Bedwyn was one
of only 16 pubs out of an initial 10,500 Punch pubs to go into the
National Finals of the Shine Awards. Initially they were judged on
their food and customer experience and became top in their region.
The final round involved raising money for a local charity – and
they very kindly nominated the Bruce Trust.
They raised money through quizzes and by selling one of their
puddings in aid of the Trust but the main part of the competition
involved the Trust and the pub persuading their customers to vote on
a special voting line.
The finals were in May and the Three Tuns came fourth, with 3,033
votes. The total now raised by the Three Tuns is £4063, which money
has been used to buy two new electric transfer hoists to help move
the Trust’s disabled customers from wheelchair to bed or toilet,
whilst on their holiday on one of the Trust’s boats.
Many thanks to everyone who voted!
Thanks to the Cross Keys in Great Bedwyn who had a raffle
recently during the break from football, raising £24.50. Thanks to
Val for organising the prizes and to everyone who took part.
Greenham Common Trust have provided us with £4,000 towards
